HDB to Launch 19,600 BTO Flats in 2026 with One-Fifth Offering Shorter Wait Times

Summary

Singapore's Housing & Development Board (HDB) will launch approximately 19,600 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats in 2026, distributed across three sales exercises scheduled for February, June, and October.

In a significant development for homebuyers, more than 4,000 units—representing about one-fifth of the year's total supply—will be designated as Shorter Waiting Time (SWT) flats with completion periods of less than three years.

Diverse Mix Across Multiple Locations

The 2026 supply will feature a comprehensive range of housing options, including Standard, Plus, and Prime BTO flats spread across various towns. Confirmed locations include Ang Mo Kio, Bukit Merah, Sembawang, Toa Payoh, Tampines, Woodlands, and Yishun, offering prospective homeowners choices across both mature and non-mature estates.

The planned launches underscore HDB's commitment to meeting sustained housing demand, with the agency remaining on track to deliver its ambitious target of approximately 55,000 flats between 2025 and 2027.

Meeting Sustained Demand

"With the upcoming launches, HDB remains on track to meet our target of offering about 55,000 flats from 2025 to 2027 to meet sustained housing demand," the agency stated.

The inclusion of Prime, Plus, and Standard flats across the supply reflects HDB's continued strategy of providing diverse housing options while managing access to highly sought-after locations through differentiated pricing and subsidy frameworks.

The SWT component addresses growing demand from buyers seeking faster access to their homes, particularly young families and those requiring urgent housing solutions.

Sales Exercise Schedule:

  • February 2026: First launch
  • June 2026: Mid-year exercise
  • October 2026: Final exercise

Prospective applicants are advised to monitor HDB's official channels for detailed project launches, unit types, and application timelines as the year progresses.
